The majority of our foals and yearling
are by our own stallion
'Vet School Dowsett'
2008 FOALS
The final foal for the year is not only Oakey's second
foal on the ground, but the first for our son Phillip and also for his mare 'K-Sera'.
Technically born in 2009 on the 2nd of January, 'K-OAK'
was foaled on his due date and he rounded out 4 from 4 foals to be colts.
Phillip intends to grow this boy up, break him in and campaign
him when he retires his mother. The only problem with this scenario is he is already 6ft tall and will probably be too
big for this boy. Perhaps his younger brother can compete on him.
'REMICK DOUBLE D' was our 3rd born
for the year. He is by my Brother In Law's stallion 'Northbrook Mydeck' out of our foundation mare, 'Lucky Diana'.
He is the only colt by Mydeck that we know of, all others have
been gelded. Mydeck is currently having some health issues.
The next foal born was 'REMICK GRADUATE'
a full brother to 'Remick Bronson' and 'Remick Justified'. In fact he is the spitting image of his eldest brother.
By 'Vet School Dowsett' out of 'Remick Panteen', he was born 6
days late on the 7th of December.
'Remick Admirals Artilery' is our
first Oakey foal on the ground. His dam is our Sprint TB mare, Robyn's Revenge.
'Artie' was born 39 days overdue and has had an event filled start
to life, which he has taken in his stride. He is full of personality, and as you can see, he is a bit of a mummys boy.
He has a lovely Dandelion/Fireworks/Explosion on his head, so I
think his name suits him well.
2007 FOALS
Despite 7 foals being due this year by 'Vet School
Dowsett', this little filly is the only one we are expecting for ourselves. She had a rough start to life, coming 10
days early and being born into a paddock with 2 geldings after EI struck. One gelding tried to kill her and mauled her
on the back on the neck badly. The other gelding became her knight in shining armour and was her guardian angel and
protected her. He was her lucky charm, and that is what we have decided to call her....... 'Remick Charm'.
2006 FOALS
First born at a crazy 318 days gestation
was 'Remick Cool Moon'.
This photo taken at just 2 days of age, shows how well
developed she is.
Dam is Remick Affair and the Sire is our own Vet School
Dowsett. This was Affair's first foal.

Remick Rookie as a yearling |
Next born was 'Remick Rookie' a full
brother to Remick Inara.
By Vet School Dowsett out of Lucky Diana.
He is a handsome fellow who is definately going grey just like
his mum.
SOLD - with the option of purchasing back later.
Next we have 'Remick Elusive'.
So named because for 10 days that was exactly what she was....Elusive. I couldn't find either the mare or foal in the
700 acre paddock.
She is by the Omega Stallion - 'Bonzer Stud Timepiece',
out of our campdraft winning mare 'Remick Xena', her second foal.
She is a lovely type of filly....and....a
possible future girlfriend for Dowsett.
A long story with this little fellow. A
neighbour put her TB mare in foal to Dowsett for us to have the foal as a Thank-you for the help Rick has given her.
The mare went way overdue, in fact she foaled at 369
days. The ladies Grandson, Ashley (3), was helping his mum with the foal watch. He asked his mum, when
will we know when the foal is coming? So his mum showed him a foaling book and said, "Just look for the bubble".
He would go out to check and would come back and say,
"Tail, swish, swish. No bubble".
On the 14th of October, around 5pm Ashley was found drowned in
the dam. At 11.15pm that night, Tandy foaled. We allowed his parents to name him and they chose 'Star
of Ashley' as he loved looking at the stars.
On the 18th of November, we then presented 'Star' as a wedding
present to Ashley's parents. We could not think of anything more appropriate.
And finally we have this lovely colt by Vet School
Dowsett,
out of Remick Panteen.
Once again, he is a lovely looking fellow, with a terrific temperament.
We have finally settled on a name for him. He
is now to be known as 'Remick Justified'. We are unsure if we are going to sell him at next years yearling sale, or
grow him up and break him in to sell.
New for Remick Stock Horses in
2006
We are very excited with our new purchases
from Jondel Stud. As if we can't breed enough of our own, we have bought 2 of Vet School Dowsetts fillies from their
2003 crop. New and better photo's to come.
Introducing 'Jondel Jillaroos Image'. Bred by
John and Adelis Bauer, she is by 'Vet School Dowsett' out of the same dam as 'Jondel Brigalow' - 'Jondel Jillaroo'.
Jilly was to go to the futurities etc with Allan Wallen and her half brother, but her preparation was stalled, so we got her
instead!!!!
She is showing great promise with cattle and will be
starting her campdraft career in the new year if she doesn't sell. Jilly is now 5yo.
Please refer to the 'For Sale' page
for further information.
Introducing 'Jondel Schoolette' aka Cameo. She
was also bred by John and Adelis Bauer. She is simply beautiful. As a youngster she changed colours so much they
didn't know what colour she would end up. She is a Black Silver.
We broke her in as a 3yo without so much as a fuss. She is
currently in foal to our Junior stud, 'Remick Little Admiral'. This will be our first cross of the two boys. We
are hoping for a filly foal with the same colouring as her mother. Unfortunately, she is not due until early February.
She is out of 'Jondel Rivolette' who is by the Bauers Rivoli Ray
stallion, 'Jondel Rivoli Wonder' (dec'd).
Stop Press!!!!

2003 Foals

'Remick Dowsett's Creek' as a newborn |
'Remick Dowsett's Creek' was
our very first foal born. Imagine my horror when I saw how deformed his back legs were. This was because his mother
was an old mare and he was such a big foal, he didn't have room to move in the womb and therefore sat on his legs during the
last months. As you can see in the updated photo, his legs straightened nicely.
This is 'Remick Dowsetts Creek' all grown up & turned 5
this year, 2008. And what a horse he is. He is already as big as dad, standing approximately 15.3hh and still
growing.
He is very cowy and is showing great potential. He has proven
himself to be a great mustering horse. He is has started his campdrafting career with 2 runs in the maiden with Rick and
his first run in a Juvenile with Phillip. We are very happy with his progress to date.
However, having 4 Dowsett progeny the same age, he is now up for
tentative sale. We would prefer to sell Jilly as he is the sentimental favourite being our first Dowsett and his dam's
last foal.
|
'Remick Xena's Folly' as a newborn |
'Remick Xena's Folly' was
our very next foal and weren't we happy. 'Folly' is the first foal out of our Campdraft winning Mare 'Remick Xena'.
'Xena" won her Maiden in only her 3rd start at Boonah Show Draft in 2002. 'Folly' is growing up quite nicely.
This is a photo of 'Xenas Folly' approaching
yearling hood. She is now broken in and is showing great ability while mustering. She will start her
campdrafting career at the start of next year, 2009. She should be competed in the Maiden by Rick and in the Juveniles
by Phillip. Depending on performance, this may change with Phillip riding her in the Maidens. At this point in
time, 'Xenas Folly' is not for sale.
|
'Remick Wizard' with our now 6yo son at a couple of months |
'Remick Wizard' was our
third and final foal for 2003. His mother is one of our injured winning Campdraft Mares, 'Remick Mariah'. 'Wizard'
is her first foal and we continue to breed from her.
He was one of the quietest foals we have ever bred.
From the first day you could pat, stroke and catch this lovely fellow. He looks for your company and if anything is,
of course, a lovable pest.
|
Here I am being broken in |
Here is 'Remick Wizard' today. Yes, that is my
5yo son riding a 3 yo Wizard. He has the best temperament and is very cool to ride.
Wizard has now been sold to a young lady who plans
to do some flagging and other rodeo events on him. Last we heard, she is still extremely happy with her purchase.
SOLD

One of John and Adelis Bauer's foals |
|
This is another one of Bauer's foals |
When we bought 'Vet School Dowsett' our
main opposition in the bidding war were John and Adelis Bauer. We may have won the war, but they did invest in 6 foals
by him all born in the 2003 season. They are very happy with them all and are in the process of breaking them in.
This is 'Jondel Trespasser', a 2yo
gelding owned by John and Adelis Bauer. He is by 'Vet School Dowsett' out of a 'Jondel Rivoli Wonder' mare.
This horse carries the bloodlines of 4 seperate Foundation Sires
in Abbey, Nabinibah the Gun, Peter and Elliots Creek Cadet. 4 Foundation Mares in Garthowen Miss Rivoli, Barretts Creek
Betty, Comara Princess and Fladbury Stud Crisena.
|
Jondel Trespasser in paddock condition |
4 Impact Sires in Rivoli Ray, Yallatup Rivoli Rex,
Blue Moon Mystic and Abdul. Please note that he has several crosses of some of these great horses. Oh, and just to mix
it up a little, he also goes back to the great QH Cattle Camp.
CONGRADULATIONS to Rochelle
of the Tweed Coast. She won this wonderful horse on the auction at www.australianwesternhorseshowcase.com.au with a winning bid of just $1300-!!!! 'Jondel Trespasser' will be
used in the showring, entering into Hack and Working Horse classes. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
2004 Foals
|
Remick Inara - a little showy |
|
Remick Inara in February 2006 |
'Remick Inara' is our filly for the
2004 season. Her mother was Vet School bred 'Lucky Diana' who is by 'Cattle Camp'. This filly is built differently
from all of the other 'Vet School Dowsett' foals we have. We think she has taken after her mothers side and is thoroughbred
like but VERY showey. It will be very interesting to see how she grows up. Her brother and cousin will be sold
this year at Toowoomba ASH Yearling and Broodmare Sale, however, we will keep Inara and see how she develops.
|
'Remick Bronson' was sold at Toowoomba ASH Yearling and Broodmare Sale 2006 |
'Remick Bronson' is by 'Vet School
Dowsett' out of 'Remick Panteen'. His mother was never drafted as she was injured as a young horse. He is
her 4th foal. He is half brother to 'Remick Affair', 'Remick Frigate', 'Remick Li'l Jess' and now 'Remick Justified'.
|
2007 Anzac Day Trail Ride |
SOLD
'Bronson' was sold at the yearling sale and in a round
about way he is now own by Jana Schmidt at Pine Mountain. She broke him in herself and is currently doing shows and pleasure
riding including trails with him. She appears to be very happy with him as you can see from the photo beside.
It was taken at the Anzac Day Trail Ride 2007.
|
'Remick Little Admiral' 4 weeks before the 2006 Toowoomba Yearling and Broodmare Sale |
And here he is!!!!! 'Remick Little
Admiral' has been very good at avoiding the camera during his short life. This fine upstanding fellow is by
the well known QH/ASH Stallion 'Admiral Oak' and is out of our 2nd 'Cattle Camp' mare, 'Vet School Breeze'. He is half
sister to our 2005 foal 'Remick Isabelle' and to the 2007 foal, 'Ahrem Full Moon Mystic' by 'Vet School Dowsett'.

Crop of foals
|
'Remick Mikayla' being broken in |
We have our very first foal for the season!!!
This brown filly by "Vet School Dowsett' was born on 18/10/05 and is a healthy bundle of joy.
In honour of her mother 'Mona Lea Carla' and her half
sister 'Kayla' we have decided to call this filly 'Remick Mikayla'.
This filly is becoming very stylish and like other progeny,
has quite a good temperment. It looks like she may be a keeper!!
|
Remick Mariah's new filly foal |
Wizard has a new baby sister. Born 19/10/05 only
12 days early!!! She appears to be a liver chestnut but only time will tell. She is a lovely quiet foal just like big
brother but unfortunately we gave her to Jeff and Nadine Lucas of Rosevale as they were unable to get their own mare in foal.
That's probably why she's a filly!!!
If she was still ours, she would have been called 'Remick
Celebration'!
I will post an updated photo as soon as one becomes available!!!
|
'Vet School Breeze' with newborn 'Remick Isabelle' |
|
Newborn 'Remick Isabelle' - 'Belle' |
And here she is!!! 'Remick
Isabelle' - 'Belle' our last little filly for the 2005 foaling season. Including a filly foal that we lost at 7 months
gestation, that gives us a testosterone free season. Let's hear it for the fillies!!! This little girl is by our
stallion out of 'Cattle Camp' bred mare 'Vet School Breeze'.
